Melaleuca - Membership Review from Saint Petersburg, Florida

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Thanks, for sharing your hate views on our President. After reading your comments, I have decided not to join Melaleuca. We are all Americans and that should be first and not a political affiliation. The other major problem I for see is the "Auto monthly minimum shipment of $60.00. This setup benefits the company and not the customer as it creates a guaranteed revenue stream for Melaleuca. It also appears the this company intentionally makes it hard to cancel the agreement. I do not chose to become a "cash cow" to augment a company's revenue dollars or to help others to enrich themselves at my expense.

What comments were made about the president?

I do not chose to become a "cash cow" to augment a company's revenue dollars or to help others to enrich themselves at my expense.

That statement only makes sense if you make every product you use and grow everything to make those products. If not then you are in fact helping others enrich their lives!

Walmart, target, any grocery store each and every time you buy something you are enriching the owners life. Please tell me you understand that.

There's no comments about Obama. And cancelling is very easy.

DEAR MANAGEMENT

OF MELALUECA

I have a complain regarding your staff, Cassandra and Lydia station in Melaleuca Penang. I find that they are not helpful to customers and indeed not suitable to be placed at the front line as they failed to explain company's policy clearly and politely.

My sister went to your Melalueca Penang just to buy shampoo and was told that she needs to have the authorised letter from me as  an account holder. I stay in JB and has never received any letter informing me  to sign the Authorise letter so i called up KL office and Mr Gary gave me a helping hand and allowed my sister to buy in Penang, and i was given an assurance that my sister in Penang would be able to buy  this time round before  I  sign  the authorise letter.Mr Gary also gave my sister a call to inform  her that she can  buy, so she went there the second round but your  staff, Cassandra and Lydia insisted that my sister needs to buy 35points to activate without explaination to my sister .I think  your staff need to attend a course on how to talk to customers. Customer who comes all the way a few times just to get one thing and being turn away in a rude way is a lost to the company as words would be spreaded around regarding the staff and this will cause the people to shun the company for other choice. I hope approapriate action would be taken and thank you.

So I guess you are looking for a business where no one purchases anything and the company sends you a check because why? you such a nice person...

? LOL

Business is about moving products, goods and services. If they aren't consumed no one makes money...

get it?

Why bother looking for an business opportunity if you have no investment funds?

Expensive products- not that special

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Think twice before you sign up for this expensive commitment. They have many rules & regs that you need to follow & if you mess up it's on you. They have no mercy. I forgot to order one month & they sent me items that I had no interest in. I had to pay for shipping to return the items & I was not refunded the shipping to receive them. When i complained they told me that these items were selected for me because I didn't have a back up order. They told me that I need to remember the rules that I agreed to. I told her that there were so many I was bound to forget something. Well, too bad for me. Also, i was told that 80% of the products has Maleluca oil in them. I was a member for 9 months & all the products I received were no different from Walmart products, except the price. (Which was 3 times more expensive) I think by overpaying for these ordinary products, I am supporting an entire network of sales reps. I am a happy non member of this ridiculous company.

Surprise charges, very difficult to get a refund!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The exact same thing is happening to me! I am returning their products because I got billed by surprise, way more than I expected.

I thought it cost $1 the first month. Wrong! It costs a dollar to open the account, then they charge you over $60 in products that I dont' even want! And now to get my money back I have to ship the products back at my expense and provide all kinds of information to them in a letter stating I want to close my account.

I will never open an account with them again. Nor will I refer them.

Not sure when this was posted, but maybe you need to revisit how the preferred membership works.

Guest

When you enrolled you were able to open your with $1 but you shop monthly to purchase superior products. To keep your preferred membership you shop monthly for a minimum of 35 points.

These products are what you use monthly - toothpaste, deodorant, granola bars, crackers, cleaning supplies, drink mixes, lotion, etc.

The products you shop for through Melaleuca are products shop for at anyother store.... you just don't have to drive there and stand in line with everyone else it ships directly to you.

You're obviously an *** and don't know what you are doing.

Love the products but it's a rip off after you have to pay the s/h AND you receive the same product every month instead of being able to order when and what's needed. If they are such an amazing company then they should have the confidence that people will return again and not be Forced to buy. I miss the products they have.

They send you the same products after you don't pick what you want. What they are sending you is your backup wishlist.

I was unable to create a backup wish list and got a shipment of $130 worth of stuff I had just returned to the company. I had spoken with customer service about it and thought it was taken care of, but apparently not. I have confirmation of the delivery of my returns and they confirms it with me by phone but informed my credit card company they've received nothing.

Melaleuca - Bug Spray Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was recently at an event where Malaleuca had reps for their company. They had samples of lotions and other items, including bug spray.

They also claimed these items were all natural, when indeed they were not. The lotions were made with ingredients derived from petroleum, mineral oil (horrible for the skin), and other harmful additives, some of which I could not pronounce, obviously a far cry from all natural. Malaleuca should be more active in training their representatives, especially for their skin care products, thence they be liable for misrepresentation and potential skin conditions that may occur from use of their products.

All natural means raw materials derived from the Earth's eco-life, not three beneficial ingredients which are then overcast with a number of questionable ingredients. ------ Pissed consumer tired of being misled by big business.

The bug spray doesn’t work at all. I love the other products, but this one is a dud.

Guest

Honestly this bug spray doesn’t work very well. I’ve applied 3x the amount I would have with most sprays and it’s still not effective against mosquitos.

Ivah Fxb

What's this got to do with bug spray? I have a bottle here it is called Natural Bug Spray.

this is a Deet-free, dermatologist-tested insect repellent that uses the power of essential oils to keep bugs at bay. It is 99% effective against mosquitoes and ticks.

I use this product and the first time I went outside with it on, the black flies wanted nothing to do with me, mosquitos stayed away and no ticks were found on my pants. GREAT PRODUCT.

Guest

Personally, we loved the bug spray.

Nice smell, many mosquitoes flocked around us but no bikes whatsoever!

Will purchase if we can find it in the brochure!

Happy being mosquito free xx

Zavion Ufz

I had a reaction to the products and did not believe they were natural. Many years ago they seemed much better.

Whatever they used in their vitamins made me very sick. I tried the women's performance pack and I noticed everything tasted fishy, which seemed like an unnecessary overload of cod liver or fish oil...

I am just disappointed in the products and reps all around.

Quintell Ajr

Then you obviously did not do your research. Mineral oil is a derivative of petroleum and is harmful to the skin.

Petrolatum another ingredient I remember seeing on these lotion products is also petroleum derived. These products are not phthalate or paraben free. You are preaching to the wrong person about ingredient pronunciation for reasons I will not involve here. If you want to continue using harsh ingredients on your skin that is your choice.

Most commercial products mask skin issues, they don't heal them and others make skin problems worse because of chemical ingredients, false advertising and misrepresentation. True natural skin care is what I choose as our organs absorb 60% of what we put on it.

Using commercial products long term is horrible for not just your skin, but your inside as well. Good luck.

Guest

Just because you can't pronounce an ingredient's name doesn't mean it isn't naturally derived. Having said that, not everything natural is safe and not everything synthetic is harmful.

I have been a customer for 26 yrs, I have done my homework and, no, I am NOT paid a dime in compensation from Melaleuca. I simply have come to the conclusion that they are world class products.

Guest

Yes, I compared ingredients, and agree with a few beneficial ingredients along with along with 20 other garbage ingredients.

Guest

I had a variety of skin issues which wouldn't heal until I began using Melaleuca products including the gold bar, Renew lotion and vitamins. I am happy to say, I feel fabulous, my skin issues have cleared up and I am happy to use the products and serving as a sales representative too.

I was lured into Melaluca by a coworker. At first it was ok, but I stopped needing so many products that were not any better than I could get at the store. I tried to cancel and for sent my auto ship box. Mess assured my account was cancelled but got the next month's box. I eventually had to call my credit card company and have them change the number on my card to have the boxes stop.

I want to cancel my account

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was advised I had to write a letter. Sign a letter.

Fax a letter. All to cancel an account. This is horrible. And to return an order, I basically had to do the same.

This is too complicated. Number one I signed on to this without knowing all of these limitations. I don't believe their products warrant all this bureaucracy. Plus they made sure that you can't make any complaints on their site because of course they want to be viewed as this elite institution.

Not!

What's hard about writing a letter and sending it to Melaleuca?

Step 1. Get a pen.

Step 2.

Get a piece of paper. (If you can't find a nice piece of paper, you can use a napkin or the back of a receipt.)

Step 3. With your pen, write the following on your piece of paper: your name, your Membership ID number (so they can easily locate your account), the words "Please cancel my account" and your signature. (While they encourage you to also include a reason, it's not necessarily required.)

Step 4.

Submit your paper to Melaleuca using any one of the following methods: mail, fax, e-mail... they even have an app called "Melaleuca Quick-Send" where you can actually take a picture of your letter with your mobile device and send it directly to them.

Step 5.

Wait about 1 or 2 business days. The only way you would have any problems after carefully following these steps is if you have very sloppy handwriting or if took a blurry picture.

The Cancellation Process is included in Melaleuca's "Statement of Policies" which you were asked to carefully read and understand before becoming a member.

Zavion Ufz

They informed me I could not write a letter but must use my online account, which never works. After weeks of insisting they work with me, I emailed a screen shot of the request.

I was told I would receive confirmation in 24 hours, but I never did. The company continued to charge me. I finally got my credit card company to stop after Cs confirms cancellation on the phone. Cs also confirms having my returns and could not tell me why my card had not been credited.

I still have not been refunded and the company is stating they never received anything.

I literally wasted several hours back and forth with Cs and trying to get my online account to function... This went on for months.

It certainly was not worth it. I did not sign up for the hassle and rip off that I got.

Those products were no good for me and I learned that 100% satisfaction guarantee is worthless.

Guest

I know 4 different people who cancelled their account. Easy.

I just recieved a wax warmer that wasn't working and it took 2 minutes to fill out the paperwork and they paid shipping to send it back.

Going off personal experience with the company. I don't agree with either of this consumers statements.

Jeniffer Onl

Canceling your account is simple. You print out the cancellation letter in your account and send it in. All the items are 100% refundable, and it's easy to send them back.

Melaleuca - Account Cancellation Review from Cincinnati, Ohio

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The products aren't as great as claimed. And they are not affordable for somebody living on their own, with a child on the way, making minimum wage.

I got charged for my back up order and didn't have the money in my bank account to pay for it, causing it to bounce and screw me over.

I've been trying to cancel my account for the past month. i don't have access to a computer or printer and ive told them that time and time again, yet they keep telling me they need it in writing which i think is complete ***. I'm calling to cancel my account, I'm the account holder, I'm giving you verbal permission to close my account.

I don't understand why i can't just cancel the *** thing over the phone. Finally they had me download the quick send app, which i should have been told about in the first place... I thought they said canceling would be quick and easy... I'm very disappointed in this company.

I liked what they claimed to do for people, but it's not worth my money, time or the hassle. I will not be a returning member.

Regardless of how you became a member (over the phone, online and/or with paperwork), you legally agreed to Melaleuca's "Statement of Policies and Definitions of Terms." Section 10 states that "a Customer may cancel his/her Customer Membership Agreement, for any reason at any time by sending a completed Melaleuca Cancellation Form or by giving written notice to Melaleuca bearing his/her original signature, printed name, address, Customer Number and reason for canceling (to assist Melaleuca in improving its customer service)."

You don't need a computer or a printer to make a written cancellation request, all you need is a pen and a piece of paper (if you don't have a nice clean sheet of paper, you can use a napkin or the back of a receipt. Really, I'm not kidding!) and include the following information:

1.

Your Name

2. Your Membership ID (so that Melaleuca can easily locate your account.

3. The words "Please Cancel My Account"

4. Your Signature (While they encourage you to also include a reason, it's not really that necessary.) If you don't have access to a computer, a fax machine or a smartphone, there is always good old regular postal mail.

Just make sure that you mail your letter with enough time for it to reach Melaleuca before the end of the month to avoid a backup order (which is also something to which you legally agreed).

The only way you would have any further problems after carefully following all of these steps is if you have bad handwriting or if you took a blurry digital picture of your letter. Melaleuca's "Statement of Policies and Definition of Terms" can be located at the following address: http://cdnus.melaleuca.com/PDF/BusinessCenter/Reference_Library/Download_PrintCenter/BusinessBuilders_PoliciesTerms_2_enUs.pdf

Wow! I love Melaleuca, but it's like any other job, one has to get off their rear ends to do it.

I've made good money and the products are awesome, so honestly, I don't know what you're complaining about, why?? Because you didn't make any money??

Zavion Ufz
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-978985

I don't think you are even paying attention to what was stated.

I am a since parent and I work full time and take care of other households as well.

I was told by melaleuca I could not request cancellation in writing but had to use the option on my online account, and it wasn't working. That went on for weeks. It actually took about two months from the time of my first call to CS.

I didn't have time for the hassles I kept running into with this company and Cs was no help--even when they talked like everything was going to be taken care of.

I wasted my time and money--not ever trying to make money just trying to find good products. The products must have changed a lot over the years because I had very bad reactions and so did my mother who was a longtime member.

I had horrible experiences and got so frustrated trying to make MORE time to deal with these issues. I returned products because neither myself nor my family could use them without breaking out, itching, and migraines. I also had many unopened and brand new products I returned. NOTHING was refunded.

The company is now stating none of it was ever received when I confirmed it by phone with Cs months ago and I have the USPS tracking numbers with confirms delivery. The hassle continues. I should have just saved my money on shipping but CS told me I could send it back for a refund even if some of it would not be fully refunded. Melaleuca must really be hurting for financially if they need to be unethical and keep money from single mothers and children.

I have absolutely no time or patience for that. I work anywhere from 9 to 11 hours a day. I take care of my own children. I take care of my disabled father and help with other personal matters.

I don't love Melaleuca at all at this point.

The reps have been extremely arrogant and rude here. I am just very unimpressed.

Guest

That's too bad you had a lousy enroller who didn't help you suspend your membership, so you didn't have to go thru "all that drama". Maybe there is something here you could take responsibility for instead of blaming others.....just saying.

Guest

Have you tried reading your documents before you sign? I saw it stated clearly that you must cancel in writing.

Guest

Melaleuca will sure let you enroll one the phone, however, you can't cancel on the phone! Blatant fleecing of your wallet and trust!

Obviously a sketchy deceptive in practice.

antioxidants can cause a skin breakout while ridding the body of toxins. Melaleuca cleaning products can seem to be a little irritating the first time you use them because they remove all the old cleaning product residue-so its really the old stuff.

A friend of mine signed me up and I thought great I can work towards selling the products like I do so for Avon and maybe make some extra money. Well I was partly right...the one thing they don't tell you is every month regardless you have to order a certain amount.

Mine was $100.00. If you don't have anyone to order from you, they still charge you the monthly amount and send you a repeat of your last shipment.

I didn't find much of a difference and the vitamins made me so ill I would throw up for days. I can't say this is a good or bad company but one thing is for sure, they are a pyramid scheme!

You people that are complaining how you "got scammed" do realize you joined a SHOPPING CLUB, right??? And, are you kidding me???

How you can complain about making small purchases when YOU ARE TOLD UPFRONT it is a SHOPPING CLUB, with a point minimum purchase each month to stay active in the club? You knew what you were signing up for. If you don't like, cancel.

But to blame a top notch company because YOU didn't participate in the Club as you agreed to is in no way the company's fault. Nothing is a scam about Melaleuca, but these bad reviews are just people who did not participate as they agreed to and now, it's everybody else's fault that they aren't happy.

Guest

You are so wrong. I can not imagine what you were told that could make you feel this way.

It is most definitely not an MLM, as a customer and Marketing Exec I do not sell anything. Why you think you had to spend $100 a month is ***. Monthly min order is 35points so you are in charge of how much you spend and clearly the products had no value to you since you felt you were forced to buy stuff. The products I use are safer and cost less.

I am shopping for necessities not luxuries.

So sorry for your experience. Sounds to me like your friend may have not known what she was doing and did not care enough about you to explain this great discount shopping club very well.

Guest

I have been a melaleuca customer for over 5 years, and a marketing executive for 4, and let me tell you, there is not a shred of MLM or scheme in this business.

One- you dont sell a single thing.

Two- if you are interested in earning an income, you can refer customers to the store. But you are not obligated to.

And three- there is no "new" money. Meaning you are just budgeting your money to another store.

You are not buying anything that you don't already use.

If you have any more questions, please contact me.

I hate to be the one to point fingers so I'm not going to really technically Point any fingers, but don't be afraid you call a company and MLM, that doesn't make it a bad thing and yes Melaleuca is an MLM in respect you are still making compensation based on somebody else doing or buying products which you refer to or through your Melaleuca site there for yes it is multi-level marketing but multi-level marketing doesn't have to be bad. In my opinion multi-level marketing is just three really long words defining one taking hard work and self goal oriented business into their own hands in order to make money for themselves that in the long run will pay off to where they can have all their financial goals met.

But what I have found through research is most of the people who want to join an MLM or who have joint in MLM don't want to work or don't want to put in any effort and fail and then paint a bad name. So if I were to give any advice even to someone a successful as you : stop telling people it's not on MLM to scare them away cuz MLM is not bad, MLM like I said is just a really fancy way of saying "work your butt off for a little bit to reap the rewards " that's all it really means

reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1162763

My dear, I like many of Melaleuca's products. However, if you make more money the higher the "level" you are and encouraging others to join the club gives you a greater monthly paycheck, that is the definition of an MLM. Denying that really shreds your credibility.

Guest

You are horribly misinformed.....

Guest

The first thing you state is that you planned to sell the products like you did with Avon. Obviously you have a terribly misinformed person giving you information, or you just don't understand how this company works.

They not only do not want you to "sell" their products... but they highly discourage it and want you to work the business accordingly or simply buy products for yourself. There is no way you were forced to purchase 100$ worth of product. wrong, wrong, wrong.

You sign a contract that says you will purchase a certain amount of points each month, and then you teach others and encourage them to do the same. No one should ever be "ordering from you" The products are legit and very high quality... and the company is praised in Forbes top 100. This company is not a pyramid scheme...

and if you understood how the company is supposed to work, and understood what a pyramid scheme is...

you wouldn't even make that claim. Make sure you read AND understand contracts before you sign them in any situation, and then you will be less likely to misunderstand things and therefor avoid feeling victimized.

Guest

you Melaleuca robots are so funny. This is multi level marketing whether you chose to believe it or not.

The only way to make money is to have other people become customers. So you are constantly asking people to join or become "members", to have preferred status you have to order enough products to equal 35 points which is a lot if you only have 2 people in your house hold. If you signed up as preferred(which you can do over the phone but to cancel they need your signature) you have to order every month and if you don't you will have products auto shipped to you whether you need them or not and be charged. If you catch it before they "ship" the order they still won't cancel your order, you have to wait for them to ship it at your expense then you can ship it back again at your expense.

This company does victimize people. People if you put in your card information and the delete button is greyed out then HOUSTON YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A PROBLEM. HIGHLY UNETHICAL and indeed a pyramid scheme. Now you can remain a regular customer but then you have to buy inferior products for premium prices.

Stay away if you want to keep your money. All those people who give this company "great reviews" have obviously been brain washed.

The fantastic vitamins made me break out I had to stop taking them. Chemical free, really what you they call added colorants and added fragrances?(chemicals) but we are not supposed to know that

Ms Rosita.

I will give you the respect of calling you by your name. The fact is if you had a bad enrolled I am sorry that happens in every company.

But your conception of Melaleuca is wrong. I am not a robot, but I do know we manufacture over 500 safer for you home and environment products. I live in Knoxville so I shop at the store every month. Our competitors are Procter and Gamble, emo by the way just moved their operations to Asia, Johnson and Johnson who is now being sued and fined by the government because of cancer causing agents in their products, and Colgate Palmolive.

They are consumer product companies and so are we. We sell consumables goods just like out competitors. We are membership base like Sam's club and Costco. Except our membership is less expensive and no bulk buying.

You but what you need for your home. Simple as that. If you take a bath wash your hair, clean your home, brush your teeth, every day you have met your monthly commitment. But if you area a nasty person and don't keep clean you will not met your monthly commitment.

If you don't like your membership you get in touch with your enroller tell them to cancel you. There should be no problem if you choose wisely when picking the right person to enroll with. Melaleuca is having a record year 2016. Because people are getting smarter about what they put on and in their bodies.

Except for dollar store customers. They don't seem to care what they poison their families with.

Let a representative in my home to do a presentation was very impressed with the products. After the representative left my home my husband, his business partner and I had all signed up and was on board to start living cleaner.

This representative start pressuring me everyday to buy items. Then I suppose I was taking to long for her because she placed an order for 86.00 on my behalf which the company said is allowed.

The part that made me so upset is that I had only been a customer for less than two whole days. Melaleuca stood behind the "she is not an employee" so basically she can do what she wants and we will continue to allow her to go into people home take down their credit card information and use it as they please as long as we get our cut.

Sorry this happened to you. Sounds like you just had a really bad enroller--or she was trying to make you a customer by the end of the month at all costs (cause she gets paid if you join and order).

You can send the products back and have your money refunded.

But unfortunately, they can't do anything to her because she is technically their customer (maybe could be contractor) as well but not their employee.

Sorry you had such a bad experience, but they really do have good products. I'd encourage you to try them again, maybe sign up through someone else, and hopefully you will have a better experience.

I am so sorry that happened to you! As a marketing executive of Melalueca I would NEVER order something for someone.

That is very shady on her part.

Unfortunately some people only care about themselves. I hope you never encounter this type of person again

As a marketing executive of Melaleuca, you should feel a greater responsibility to personally take ACTION to enact CONSEQUENCES for such bad behavior, on the part of Melaleuca's agents. It is insufficient in the extreme to merely express sympathy, and say "I hope you never encounter this type of person again." It is up to you to take responsibility for ensuring that type of person is not supported by Melaleuca, and to make redress for their bad behavior.

Why do you need a credit card number? and what if you don't have a credit card?

i dont get it. I work for a mortgage bank.

Sales personnel, aka loan officers, are compensated based on their production. A great deal of understanding the conditions of every loan by the costumer really depends on what each individual loan officer tells their customer. So if a loan officer working for the same bank as me had deceived a borrower in order to get paid, and after some time the borrower realized that they got what they didnt want in the first place, does that mean I have to "step up", take responsibility for ensuring that loan officer is "not supported" by my bank and make "redress for their bad behavior"?

WHAT PLANET ARE YOU FROM??? Have you worked a day in your life?

What a ridiculous comparison. Ever heard of the State Licensing Board?

They would smack down that loan officer in a heartbeat. If Melaleuca has sales people walking around saying and doing whatever they want, then yes, somebody is responsible for their lack of oversight. Whether or not it would be you as an employee required to bring this to someones' attention...well that is up to you.

But I would highly recommend doing something as more bad apples will call into question your own integrity. By the way...everyone who works for Melaleuca is salesperson, denying it is folly.
