No matter where you go thier is always a fee for using a pre paid debit card. That's how they make thier money. If you go to a bank you can open a checking account for 100 dollars and get a free debit card.

Melaleuca - Cosmetic Testing Review

I was thinking of joining this but have done research to find they have done some animal testing which today and technology is not needed at all. I'm a vegan and animal activist so I cannot support a product or company that does these archaic and cruel tests. More and more people are becoming more compassionate buyers so companies that are not cruelty free are and will lose customers. I really hoped this company was cruelty free but it seems they are not. I opted to go with amway products. No animal testing unless required by law.

Even then they find an alternative way. All natural organic ingredients in the vitamins/supplements, cleaning products, etc.

Plus if you don't like it, you can send it back for a refund within 6 months.

My experience | Melaleuca review from Ogden, Utah

I went to the meeting with 2 in the business husband and wife, my friend and a couple others, it was really informative, I realized the vitamins were better than I had thought, I won't mention other companies. I realized they had been going green since the beginning. I don't want to build a business, I want to be able to use high quality stuff that isn't from china or has other hidden agenda problems. I know the products are very good, I know they keep adding and changing. I tried the energy drink that looks like a 5 hr thing and it really tasted good and was energizing, I tried the yougart grain bar and realized it had less sugar and was more nutritious. So end of story, we all went out to eat and I drove home, it was an 80 mile round trip, and was worth it. I signed up, I didn't but a package, but my friend did. I had seen the toothpaste years before, and I realized the stuff actually didn't leave stuff on my teeth, so that was a plus, I plan on using everything I can, especially the water soluable vitamins. It is to bad that people expect a miracle from any company, you have to put in time, you have to use products, and you have to have get togethers and expect NOTHING from anyone, that way, you won't pressure people or be disappointed. When you have a good message of good product and you talk about it, in time people will want to try it, just be patient. As far as getting money back, I know nothing, anyone that has a problem, asks for a supervisor, and use a fax machine, and document, then try to fix it before you start telling the world how awful your experience was, I know for a fact the office people try the best they can to give good customer service, the owner of the company has trained those people well. In these days of suprises, it's nice to know there are companies and people that will give the best they can for the money you have. You don't need to dream about making it big in life, just share it and go on your way, and keep sharing it, and in time you will help people, think of helping people instead of making money and you will be happier in life. Because in reality, people need these products, people don't know how to eat anymore, and there is acid reflex, and all kinds of problems associated with eating poorly and having poor health, it's a no brainer.

Don't sign up for the monthly it is like the worst salesmen from *** when you attempt to stop payments. they make it almost impossible to stop!! They even send product after you have called and refused we even moved they would not change the address and kept shipping it there and attempting to collect from us. We made several calls but nothing happened!! They called 3-5 times a day saying we owed them for the product we refused they said they cannot cancel over the phone so we went to the web page and it would not let us go to the cancellation form.

In my experience the only companies that make it a hassle (print, sign and then either mail or fax) to cancel a membership is a company that knows many of its "customers" are going to cancel. They hope to get a month or two extra out of the consumer while they go through the process.

It should be as simple as either calling an 800 number or cancelling online. Are they afraid that someone is going to fraudulently cancel another person's membership?!?

Really , that is really SO NOT true... You can simply stop your membership anytime before midnight of the last day of the month....

YOU are in complete CONTROL at ALL times!!!!

ALL you have to do is go into your account and fill out the form print sign and email! or fax....... A very very simple PROCESS...If you are unable to stop membership thru your online account because you are not familiar where to go then , simple write the words on a piece of paper

Cancel my mebrship effective immediately effective----------... AND Fax to an 800 number that appears on your online account or every catalog, brochure in your membership portfolio.

So DON'T blame the company for your incompetence... I have been a customer since 2001, and now since 2009 have been very happy referring customers... And WE ALL understand the BENEFITS of using better safer products.... if you don't that's fine...

BUT don't create an unrealistic problem.

Or try to make the company look bad.

Unfortunately you and your family are missing out on these great products all because you didn't take the time to really see ALL the benefits.. That's a shame...

I have been a customer for 4 years and loving it. If you could not get your account cancelled, it is because your enroller did not explain how to do it, and than it has to be in writing.

It is a great, honest company, and obviously you were enrolled and left. So sad.

You are given a contract that states if you want to cancel it has to be in writing. Why would you get mad at a company that follows their contract?                                                                                        Read People!!!                                                                                                                                    I have been a happy customer for almost 10 years.

With 450 products for you and your house that are better safer for you and your family and cost less or the same as what you spend at the store.

Look if you want to use toxic products on your family go ahead! I made the choice to love them enough to do my research.

I am retired and was looking for something to "do." After researching some WAH businesses, I thought this was the one as I had experienced MLM twice before. Melaleuca states they are not pyramid scheme and while I understand how they arrive at that conclusion, I have decided that it is pyramid. Joining for $1 seemed pretty minimal, however, I fell for the BIG package to convert my home to natural products. Included business cards, etc. I worked the business as instructed, come up with 50 people for your "contact list" and keep adding to it. I recently moved and didn't know anyone much where I am living. In retrospect, I can see how I was probably a real turnoff to some of my family and friends. Long story short, for me to make any real money I was at the point I would have had to 'buy' leads and it is constantly developing "contact list." I purchased some RM Barry Wellness Guides thinking I would use these as welcome gifts for new enrollees who wanted to build a business. Months ago, I determined it was not working for me. I have contacted the person who enrolled me and her upline. No response to try to help me sell these books at a low price to someone else who might want them. Once I cut back from Cat 2 to Cat 1 that was the end of their use for me. I like some of the products Melaleuca has, but can't keep paying approx. $80 a month after tax and shipping. I order one month and then cancel my membership for 3-4 months at a time to avoid the required points you have to spend and still get the products I want. Some of their products last so long, there is no way you would need to order them every month. Too expensive after tax and shipping. Shipping costs too high. The way I am doing it, keeps me from having to pay an enrollment fee when I want to become active again to order something and I still get Preferred Customer pricing. Don't know how much longer I will "hang on" but they really know how to "sell" the business on that webinar. I really wanted to like this company but I feel I did what they said, invested a lot of time to train myself and familiarize myself with their products. Chalking this up to another life lesson learned. No more MLM's for me EVER(even though they say they are not MLM). I am not going to buy leads to try to keep myself in a business. Personally, I do not see how anyone can make any significant amount of money doing this part time, even though it is presented as a possibility. It has been my experience, the only people who really make money on these types of businesses are the ones who get in on the ground floor, when the business is first started.

It sounds like you did not get the right training. There is still a lot of opportunity to make money but like anything else, it is not for everyone.

You can not reap if you do not sow. And if people don't think you can lead them why would they do business with you.

First you should not be buying LEADS...and obviously your enroller didnt tell you how to build your melaleuca business the proper way.My wife and I have been in Melaleuca for 3 yrs this month,and we are doing very well and never wasted money on buying leads....I train my people on my 3ft rule, just make a conversation,and look for ways to help people.We got to senior Director in our 4th month and Exc in our 14th month....if you need any help email me at cjhunter777@aol.com

My guess is you never heard back from this gentlemen. Many of these negative comments are false.

People will however believe just about anything before examining for themselves. They look for reasons why things wont work vs looking for the things that work. Many people are afraid to succeed period. For those I say stay at your dead end jobs and force yourself to look happy.

I really enjoy helping others to receive great products vs the *** on the shelves from greed driven manufacturers.

And it comes right to my door. No Brainer.

Totally NOT true. The customer service is second to none.

It is very easy to cancel if you wish.

My thought is the previous post is false as many of these negative comments are. The store shelf manufactures hate us and I understand why. Our products are second to none and natural.

It really is amazing how difficult it is for the complainers to figure out how to download the cancellation form from the same website they order and fax it in by the 25th of the month. Wow that was hard to cancel! I'll never quit needing healthier, safer and in alot of cases (believe it or not) cheaper products that are all made in the old USA.
