Let me just say that I started off very optimistic about this program. I was told I could get to the point where I didn't have to work a full time job any more and blah blah blah. My "mentor" said that I had her full support. In the end, my mentor told me not to focus on people who were looking to make extra money or who were in "financial need" (even though the MOM team advertises helping mothers quit their jobs to work from home full time). She told me to concentrate on people who were well off already, people who were ALREADY work at home mothers, and people who were in a good financial situation already (even though supposedly one will NOT spend any extra money a month on products. They say that you simply "switch your stores". ) Oh ya, the MOM team also has a "rule" that they recommend you go by. If you sign someone up that isn't committed to buying the business package which runs for about $200.00 then you should not spend as much time with them training then the person who DID buy the package. I guess it shows them that you are not as committed to the program than they thought you were. Additionally, me "mentor" complained about not understanding some contacts who were african american. She accused other minority groups of "not cutting it" for the MOM team. Then in the end she didn't have time for me to help me out, even though for 3 months she didn't let mme do one call myself because she was worried I would say the wrong thing. What could I possibly say that was wrong if I were to tell the truth?
Don't get me wrong. The products are good, and if I had the $70 a to buy them (they commit you to buy these, if not you cannot be in the MOM team) then I would do it. Maybe it was just my "mentor" that made my experience horrible and who cost me a lot of credit card debt by buying these expensive products. (BTW her initials are S.S. so please be careful in signing with her.) But I really don't recommend this company unless you have 70$ (plus initial set up fee) a month to invest in products and the time.

I made some mistakes in "trying" out Melaleuca. . . I share them here for some to try to avoid:
1. Keep you membership package if you think you MAY EVER cancel - they won't refund if you don't return the package (at your cost).
2. Return products you are unhappy with RIGHT AWAY or they won't give you a refund (60 days for a refund in the form of payment made)
3. Make sure you send your written cancelation to the correct address (if you send it to the wrong one, it gets rerouted and is most certainly the reason your cancelation took more than 10 days to get to their office) otherwise you will be forced to order for another month of products you don't desire to have.

It's frustrating to read posts where happy MEs go on and on about Melaleuca and Frank VanderSloot's pure, angelic, and environmetally sound motives. As a SE Idaho native, I can assure you that Melaleuca (as a corporate entity) and Frank are ultimately motivated by one thing - accumulating power.
Frank's power has begotten more money, political control in Idaho (which helps his standing with the BBB and helps him squash any possible anti-MLM legislation), and coming soon; ultra-conservative, LDS-oriented media outlets.
Here's one of my favorite batcrap-crazy things Frank has done lately: There is a windmill farm going up in the foothills near Idaho Falls and Frank has convened municipal hearings and taken out ads in the local paper condemning the wind turbines because he thinks they're ugly. Outside the public spotlight, Frank has lots of good things to say about the virtues of oil shale mining in Wyoming and the Four Corners area.
"The natural beauty of
Wolverine Canyon" is Frank's platform for railing against wind power in SE Idaho. Basing a public and undoubtedly expensive campaign an argument so subjective as how something looks is kooky, but if it had come from his heart (?) I'd understand. Well, dear reader, I can assure you that Frank is kooky like a fox (or one of the coyotes he loves to shoot from his helicopter).
Now you may look at images of a wind turbine and an oil shale mine side-by-side and think that the wind turbine is a crime against nature and the open-pit mine is the most beautiful thing you've ever seen, but I doubt it. I suspect that the reason Frank dislikes the Wolverine Creek Wind Farm is because he doesn't have a stake in it. The land that the windmills are really on is mostly unproductive, privately-owned (not by Frank) dry farms and it is leased (through intermediaries) to Washington Power, who, at a markup, can sell green power to their customers.
I'd love to ask Frank a couple of questions. "Do you own land in Wyoming or the Four Corners area that has, say, millions of dollars worth of oil shale on it? Do you own stock in any oil shale operations? Do the coyotes tell you that windmills are beautiful and that's why you mercilessly hunt them?"
If you're interested, please do some research and let the public know what YOU find out about Frank's anti-environmentally-sound-alternative-power-source propaganda mission brought to you by the Wellness Company.

Mela Claims to have the best Green Cleaners, The best Health wellness products. the best compensation plan...I beg to differ. I was with Motivated Mom and Melaleuca Not me but my Fiance and we were not happy at all with anything about Mela or MM.. You want to see the best and Ranked #1 in the world For product and Ranked no. one in the world for compensation... Then Maybe you need to get with the real deal and Check out www.shaklee.com/gmiddleton
This is the real deal and ranked no one in the industry for product and for comp..... Shaklee went green in 1960...No other company was there when were we are endorsed by Oprah Winfrey, Racheal Ray from The Iron chef on our all natural products..Where is Melaleuca at right now...Not at the top with Shaklee that's sure...Motivated Mom's is what gives Melaleuca the bad name as The team leaders and the ones at the top are making all the money and the ones in the middle and at the bottom make peanuts....You know why Motivated Mom's make their People have an auto ship? How else is the one's at the top going to make all the big money cause they sure as *** aren't sponsoring people themselves..They make a % from every order in their downline so the rich get richer and poor get poorer..they sure as *** will npot take one of their sponsored people and place them under some one in their down line to better their success. We do in shaklee..We are a team in shaklee and have the best comp plan in network marketing today.....There is not another company who does for their people and company the things that Shaklee does...Roger Barnett is be far the better man with the better company and I would put shaklee products against Mela products any day of the week and shaklee would always come out on top. I will put shaklees comp plan against any one else's in the business and Shaklee would always come out on top..If you are a struggling network marketer who needs support and guidance and you have the desire to eanr more than a meager $200.00 a month for your efforts come see us at www.georgemiddleton.ws Here you would succeed and make money..

Melaleuca was all I used for 4 years. I was not on the MOM Team. As a single person it was difficult to purchase 35 (pp) product points EVERY month just to be able to build a business and earn loyalty dollars and buy at preferred customer prices. Even at factory direct shopping their products are expensive; hair spray for $12 IS expensive. My team kept telling me that the vitamins alone are 42 pp so it's very easy to buy 35 pp every month. I didn't want to spend that much on vitamins every month.
Most of the products are great. But I always had a problem with "forced" buying. If Melaleuca is so great and IF they are truly genuine when they say, "enhancing the lives of those we touch...." they SHOULD be in stores so EVERYONE can benefit from them.
They claim to be cheaper than Tide, 409, Fantastic, etc. But they aren't, because we are forced to buy every month whether we need anything or not. I found that I was ordering stuff I would not normally use to qualify at 35 pp. Once you get to the next status level, Director, that pp order commitment increases to 75....YIKES!!!
I would buy Melaleuca products if I could get them from my local store.
It took me a long time (4 years) to realize this business was not for me. I always had doubts about it which explains the wall I hit at a Director 3 status. I must be a slower learner.
I would not recommend it unless you have a HUGE network of people and AT LEAST $400 per month to spend on product purchases and marketing.
I love the Melaleuca products, problem was I was a member for 6 months, buying my 35 points of items every month...now it's nearly 2 years later and I still have enough product under my sink I haven't had to purchase as a non-member yet. That's why I quit, I just didn't NEED as much as they were selling me monthly. I don't feel scammed, and I did get my little checks from them, and I got my mom to fall in love with the product...I just didn't need nearly as much as I was required to buy.

I have been a member of the Mom Team for 18 months and it sounds to me that you had a bad mentor With any work at home business you either offer a product or service. I'm proud to represent a company that has safer ingredient in them. You are only shopping for things you would buy at discount stores or the pharmacy or grocery store. I sleep better knowing I have safer products for me and my family. If you want to work from home I'll help you every step of the way' if you want to just test drive Melaleuca's products I'll sign you up.But only if you LOVE THEM DO I WANT YOU TO STAY A CUSTOMER IF NOT YOU CAN QUIT. VISIT MY SITE AT HEALTHIERKIDS4life.com
I'm not sure what kind of Melaleuca team these ladies worked with but obviously they were taught very wrong. I am a Melaleuca marketing executive myself and I have no complaints at all. The products are exceptional and they are MUCH safer than that clorox and 409 you are buying each month. As a customer you are committed to switch a portion of your shopping to melaleuca...either by a 35 or 75 product point order...if you are just a customer and are NOT pursuing the business you can leave your minimum at 35 points....the 35 pts averages about $35-$50 US dollars and its stuff you are already buying somewhere else!! Things like shampoo, laundry soap, dishwasher detergent, toothpaste, etc. Only difference is it's non-toxic. So even if you don't want to pursue it as a business, being a customer is just as rewarding.
I agree with you. I tried out the M.O.M team too. I was totally excited about it in the beginning as well. Then I found out that the info we were to give was very vague. I found out, after many questions and run about answers that once I got to Director (8 recruits) I would have to spend about $200 a month on products. In researching a bit more into the products the M.O.M team supports (Melaleuca), I found out that yeah the products are less caustic than your conventional household brand products, but Melaleuca products are not all natural products as they claim. They contain ingredients that are not at all natural. Even my mentor (my recruiter) agreed with me and questioned these things too (although she is still part of the M.O.M team and still taking advantage and telling half truths to others). I ended up quitting, because I am an honest person and like to give people straight forward, truthful answers. I do not like to take advantage of others for my personal profit. I was extremely disappointed in what the M.O.M team is all about, taking advantage of the fact that most moms are looking for ways to stay at home. The world should not be a dog eat dog world, and we should not take advantage of others or tell half truths about the products or services we represent for our own personal profit.
